Andrew Jackson Language Academy January 2015-April 2015 Chicago, IL, 5th grade
- Created lesson plans, assignments, and assessments for five classes. Incorporated a variety of creative, student -centered activities that included differentiation while also maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for students to share ideas and learn in.
- Collaborated with mentor and 5th grade partner teacher to create lesson plans that complement each other and induce student learning. Attended several professional development activities.

- Observation focus: Address literacy, ESL needs, testing procedures, classroom management, and execute content area tests along with surveying the standardized testing process.

International Experience
Managua, Nicaragua December 2014 MobilePack Team Leader (Feed My Starving Children)
- Collaborated with FMSC partners to establish partner relations with the hosts while staying up to date with their work on the ground. Resulted in the successful distribution of MannaPack rice to multiple sites where children were in need.
S.I.T. Program – Western Samoa January – May 2012 Study Abroad Student (Included excursions to various islands of Western Samoa, Hawaii, American Samoa, and Fiji)
- Studied Pacific Communities and Social Change. Completed an Independent Study Project in the last month that required analyzing an aspect about the Samoan culture and lifestyle to research which resulted in a formal presentation of the findings to the University of the South Pacific student body along with community members who were invited to attend.
Parismina, Costa Rica Summer 2011 Turtle Conservation Volunteer
- Collaborated with locals to patrol ten miles along a shoreline where leatherback turtles commonly laid their eggs. Resulted in the successful relocation of over 50 eggs from their nests to areas that were safe from poachers.
Kid Castle, Shanghai, China Summer 2010 English Teacher
- Created lesson plans that were both intellectually stimulating and entertaining for students to learn the English language, maintained the classroom structure, graded the class work of the students, and collaborated with other teachers in keeping the students entertained and safe whilst students were under the watch of the school.
