About

I am an avid life long learner who loves to travel and learn about other cultures by pushing myself to venture outside of my personal comfort zones. I love learning about other people and different ways of living which led me to achieving my undergraduate degree in Sociology . However, while living in the city of Chicago during school and being able to tutor students in underprivileged neighborhoods, I noticed the vast differences of opportunities that were provided to those students compared to  schools that had a stronger financial backing. I  decided to go back to school and receive a Master’s in Elementary Education in Chicago to become closer to the underprivileged students. My eventual goal is to provide these students from underprivileged backgrounds the opportunities to venture outside of their neighborhoods, to see the world from different perspectives, and to empower them to take control of their own lives and break through the socioeconomical systems that may be tying them down.
